Shoring

Krings shoring boxes are modular trench shoring systems used in underground construction to provide
safe and secure excavation support. They are made of lightweight aluminium or steel and are designed
to be quickly and easily assembled on-site, making them a popular choice for a wide range of excavation
applications. Here’s a general overview of the process:

EXCAVATION:

Before installing the shoring box, the excavation must be dug to the required depth and width, ensuring that the trench is properly sloped and leveled to prevent collapse or settlement.

BOX PLACEMENT:

The Krings shoring box is then lowered into the excavation and positioned along the length of the trench. The box should be placed so that it is fully supported by the surrounding soil and is level and plumb.

BOX ASSEMBLY:

Once the box is in place, it can be assembled using modular panels that are connected using pins or other fasteners. The panels are typically designed to be interchangeable, allowing for a wide range of configurations and customizations to suit different excavation requirements.

BRACING:

Once the shoring box is assembled, it must be properly braced to prevent lateral movement and ensure that it remains stable and secure during excavation. This may involve the use of hydraulic struts, vertical posts, or other supports that are anchored to the box and the surrounding soil.

BACKFILLING:

Once the Mainline team has completed the excavation, the shoring box can be removed and the trench can be backfilled using the excavated soil or other suitable materials. Krings shoring boxes offer a number of benefits over traditional excavation methods, including increased safety, reduced labour costs, and improved efficiency. They are designed to provide a safe and stable working environment for construction crews, helping to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries during excavation. Additionally, the modular design of Krings shoring boxes allows them to be quickly and easily assembled and disassembled, making them a popular choice for a wide range of excavation applications.
